NDIS Home Care and Assistance with Daily Life in Canberra
NDIS home care can help with everyday personal and household activities, where the support relates to your disability needs and plan. CCS provides planned in-home assistance across Canberra and Queanbeyan, shaped around your routines, preferences, safety requirements and goals for independence.
Assistance with Daily Life is an NDIS Core support category. It can fund help or supervision with everyday personal and household activities — depending on the participant’s plan and needs, that might mean personal care, preparing meals, cleaning, laundry, routines or support to complete daily tasks more independently.
What’s included
Daily living support available through CCS
Support may include the tasks below. The exact service is agreed before support begins — some tasks need assessments, specialised training, equipment or clinical oversight, so we can’t assume them from a general enquiry.
Support that respects your home and choices
Your home is your personal space. CCS workers are expected to respect your privacy, culture, communication preferences, routines and household boundaries, and you stay involved in decisions about how support is delivered.
Where possible, we take into account preferences such as worker gender, communication style, cultural understanding and shared interests. Matching also depends on worker competency, availability and the level of support required.
Building independence, not replacing it
Good daily living support doesn’t mean doing every task for the participant. Depending on your goals, a worker might prompt, demonstrate, assist, supervise, or complete a task alongside you — the approach should reflect your abilities, safety and preferred level of involvement.
Who can access this support?
You may be able to use NDIS funding for daily living support when the relevant support is included in your plan and relates to your disability support needs. Funding arrangements and flexibility vary, so CCS confirms the service agreement and applicable charges before support starts.

Frequently asked questions
Daily living support questions, answered plainly
Yes, when these supports relate to your disability needs, suit your plan and are included in the agreed service. The worker can assist, prompt or complete tasks depending on your goals and abilities.
Not automatically — disability support and nursing are different services. If you have clinical or high-intensity support needs, CCS needs to assess whether that falls within our registration scope, workforce competency and current capacity.
Yes. Tell us your preference and why it matters, and CCS will factor it in when matching workers — though availability and required competencies also shape the final arrangement.
Availability depends on the requested schedule, worker capacity, participant needs and funding. Let us know the days and times you need, and we can give you an accurate answer.
NDIS-funded assistance has to relate to the participant’s disability support needs, so it doesn’t automatically cover general cleaning for other household members. CCS will set out the tasks and boundaries clearly in the service agreement.
